Supporting Local Cadets and Volunteers

As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities in which we work, we recently delivered a social value project at the Tenterden Army Cadet Force (ACF) Hut. The Hut plays an important role in supporting both Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs), so ensuring the building remains safe, functional, and welcoming was a key priority.

Following engagement with Rod Gray, SERFCA Head of Cadets and Youth, we discussed where our support would be most beneficial. From these conversations, a number of essential repairs were identified, and our team was pleased to step in and assist.

The works included repairing a damaged door, adding a new polycarbonate sheet above the porch where the old one was damaged, and replacing several areas of rotting flooring within the Hut. These repairs improve the condition of the facility and help maintain a safe environment for the young people and volunteers who rely on it throughout the year.

Support like this helps ensure that Cadets and CFAVs can continue the important work they do. The Army Cadet Force provides young people with valuable opportunities to build confidence, learn new skills, and develop teamwork and leadership capabilities. It offers a structured, supportive environment where they can challenge themselves, make new connections, and grow both personally and socially.

We are proud to play a small part in helping create a space where this development can continue. Our commitment to supporting Armed Forces communities, including Reserves and Cadets, remains an important part of our social value approach. Projects like this allow us to directly contribute to the communities we serve and ensure that facilities used by young people and volunteers remain fit for purpose.
