We’re proud to share some exciting news. BJF Group has been selected to appear in a major new publication, Monarchy and Democracy: A History of Leadership — an official History of Parliament Trust project produced in partnership with leading publisher St James’s House.
The book launches on 9 June 2026 at College Garden, Westminster Abbey, London, and will be available in both print and e-book formats.
Written by a team of prominent academics and award-winning authors — including royal experts Robert Jobson, Russell Myers and Katie Nicholl — Monarchy and Democracy explores the evolving roles of Crown and Parliament in the leadership of the UK and the Commonwealth.
Tracing its roots back to the Act of Settlement of 1701, one of the most significant pieces of legislation in British history, the book documents the shifts in power past and present, culminating in the transformative political and social changes of the past century.
Organisations featured in the publication were selected based on their relevance to the themes of leadership, innovation, sustainability and governance, values that sit at the heart of everything we do at BJF Group.
Stephen van der Merwe, a Group Director at the SJH Group, adds: “Through in-depth interviews with the leaders of organisations such as BJF Group, and by spotlighting their work, Monarchy and Democracy provides a compelling, first-hand perspective on how today’s organisational leaders are shaping the future in a wide range of areas, including governance, education, charitable work, enterprise and industry.”
Barry Foster, BJF Group Managing Director, says: “It’s a genuine honour to see BJF Group featured in Monarchy and Democracy: A History of Leadership, and to have both the business and our leadership team acknowledged in this way. The achievement reflects years of dedication and hard work across the company, and the vital role we play within our industry.
“This belongs to everyone at BJF Group, our people are at the heart of the business, alongside the clients and supply chain partners who are integral to our success.”
Monarchy and Democracy: A History of Leadership was officially launched at Westminster Abbey’s College Garden in June, bringing together more than 600 guests from parliament, industry and the media.
The publication is being distributed to key political, institutional and educational audiences across the UK, Europe and the Commonwealth, supported by online promotion of a complimentary digital edition.
The official launch film has now also been released, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the event and marking the organisations involved in the project.
We’re proud to see BJF Group featured as part of the publication and to have joined guests at Westminster Abbey for its official launch.
