At BJF Group, learning is an important part of how we support our people, strengthen our business and respond to the evolving needs of the built environment and construction sectors.
The industry continues to face well-documented skills shortages across key disciplines, from technical trades through to digital capability and emerging green technologies. As demand increases and projects become more complex, developing and retaining skilled people has never been more important.
As part of Learning at Work Week 2026, we are proud to highlight how we continue to invest in skills development through apprenticeships, training pathways and practical learning opportunities that help address these challenges while supporting long-term career progression.
This year, the introduction of Apprenticeship Units provides an additional way to support targeted development across the business. These short, flexible training modules are designed to help organisations respond more quickly to specific skills gaps by focusing on practical, job-relevant learning.
They support development in key areas such as digital skills, construction capability and sustainability, helping to ensure our workforce continues to evolve in line with industry demand.
Across our Facilities Management, Construction, M&E, MEP and Project divisions, we remain committed to building clear pathways for progression at every level. From early careers through to experienced colleagues, creating opportunities for learning and development is central to how we build capability across the business.
We also recognise the wider social value that investment in skills can create, particularly in supporting access to employment and helping individuals from a range of backgrounds build sustainable careers within the built environment.
As the sector continues to evolve, addressing the skills gap will remain a shared challenge across the industry. Our focus is on playing our part by investing in people, supporting progression and ensuring learning is embedded into everyday working life.
During Learning at Work Week, we are proud to celebrate the people across BJF Group who continue to learn, develop and share knowledge every day.
