BJF Group has been recertified by BM TRADA for Fire Door Installations.

Never in the history of the built environment has fire safety been such a high priority.

Spurred on by the tragic Grenfell tragedy in 2017 and subsequent Hackitt review which paved the way for the Fire Safety Act, Fire Safety is rightfully high on the agenda for anyone involved in the building, refurbishment, maintenance and ownership of properties as well as those living and working within these buildings.

To demonstrate our continued competence in the installation of Fire Doors, BJF Group’s Head of Project Services (North) John O’Neil has been recertified by global inspection, testing and certification body BM TRADA. This means that we can both install and most importantly self-certify all fire door installations we undertake for our clients.

We have a growing number of trained fire door installers across the Group and can provide a comprehensive refurbishment service incorporating the installation of fire doors where necessary.

According to the BM TRADA website:

“The BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme has been designed to provide reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that the product they have chosen has been installed correctly and that it should perform as intended.

The Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme is based on training an individual who takes responsibility for the training and work carried out by several operatives. The scheme is designed to ensure that fire doorsets are being installed correctly, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or appropriate guidelines.”
