Despite some disruption due to COVID-19 BJF Group’s Construction Division have been making great progress on the refurbishment and remodelling of Sevenoaks Community Centre.

The outside of the building is unrecognisable from the old community centre with new, contemporary timber cladding, steelwork completed for an outdoor canopy and a totally remodelled roof including solar panels.

The inside of the hall has also been completely transformed and we are now at the stage where rendering and plastering has created a clean and modern finish to the entire space ready for decoration. We have also completed the fitting of all internal doors and frames, as well as much of the first-fix and some second-fix M&E.

We have maintained a very good working relationship with our Client, Sevenoaks Town Council who have really appreciated the fact that BJF Group continued working safely throughout lockdown. As a result, we have been instructed to complete extra works including a large landscaping scheme with the addition of a patio, footpaths, large timber gazebo, water feature, increasing the carpark size and re-Tarmacking the existing carpark.

During a recent site visit, Cllr Nicholas Busvine, OBE – Mayor of Sevenoaks said:

“Well done to the build crew and council team for keeping things going during lockdown. It will be a wonderful community facility when it opens later this year.”

Andrew Garrett, Head of Construction at BJF Group added:

“We‘re delighted with the relationship that has been developed between BJF Group and Sevenoaks Town Council.  As we enter the final stages of the project, it is clear to see the hard work and commitment from our project management team.  Leaving such a legacy in the community for generations to come, is exactly why we love what we do.  Well done to everyone involved in the scheme”
