Wellington Barracks

As part of a major drive to enhance the lived experience of Service personnel and their families across the MOD estate, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is investing heavily in improvement works to their accommodation buildings.

Working on behalf of Amey, BJF Group’s Construction and Mechanical & Electrical divisions completed the refurbishment of an accommodation block at the prestigious Wellington Barracks in Central London.

The improvements we made included top to bottom redecoration, new bathrooms and kitchens areas, flooring, fire doors, lift upgrades, bedroom furniture, window enhancements etc. to make them more comfortable as well as upgrading all power, lighting, and hot and cold water systems.

Owing to its size we were able to give three of our apprentices the opportunity to work on this project allowing them to gain experience on a large and important scheme. They all enjoyed their time on site and flourished under the guidance of more experienced members of the team.

Our team have created a more welcoming, comfortable and spacious living space for our valued service personnel all whilst working in a semi-occupied building.
