BJF Group is set to play a huge part in improving the areas in which our Armed Forces work, train live and deploy. In addition to the new delivery areas that we recently announced in the South West, we have been awarded areas covering Central London the South East of England by VINCI Facilities.

Through increased preventative maintenance, more flexibility and a focus on quality for responsive maintenance, the FDIS contract represents a major investment by the MOD and puts the experience of the end-user at the heart of every decision.

The FDIS contract for the South East region, awarded to VINCI Facilities in June 2021, provides hard facilities management services for over 6,200 buildings and infrastructure assets at 59 MOD sites in London and the South East. It is for an initial seven-year term, with three additional performance related option years. The contract is worth £1.1bn across the 7 years, comprising £423m for the core FM contract and a potential £732m for additional works

The delivery areas we will be servicing cover thousands of assets including several very prestigious sites such as Wellington Barracks where BJF Group’s Construction and M&E Divisions are currently close to completing a major refurbishment project.

Barry Foster, Managing Director at BJF Group said:

“Having delivered Hard Facilities Management services and completed numerous major and minor projects for the MOD within the South East, London and further afield over the past seven years, BJF Group is ideally placed to support VINCI Facilities as they embark on the FDIS programme.

Being trusted to deliver an exemplary maintenance service across such high-profile assets is testament to the commitment and dedication of each and every one of the BJF Group team and I would like to express my personal thanks to everyone at BJF for everything they do. The contribution that my team make day in and day out is the reason we continue to grow and evolve as a business.

“We are looking forward to working with VINCI Facilities and being part of the FDIS programme as we look to improve the MOD estate for our Armed Forces”

Our key responsibilities include: planning and delivering major capital projects and refurbishments; providing utilities services and facilities management; allocating Service Families Accommodation; providing a safe place to train; procuring and managing routine maintenance and reactive repairs; advising on infrastructure planning; acting as a steward of the Defence estate and providing an unarmed guarding service.

About Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS)

The DIO spends around £3bn a year buying infrastructure services in the UK and overseas. The new FDIS contracts are currently the largest Hard FM procurement contracts across Europe. The new contracts have been procured through a Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Framework CCS has been established as a single organisation to procure for Common Goods and Services across Government. Tender evaluations are weighted to quality not price.

This is a new way of working for DIO, is in line with wider Government policy and demonstrates the approach set out in our Commercial Strategy and Procurement Plan.
